Evolution of a Design- Getting Bigger! July 1, 2013 17:30
Do you remember a few months ago I shared with you something new that I was working on? I’ll give you a clue… it was on a half size mannequin and you can read it here ;)
Well, now that International Fashion Week is on its way, it is the perfect time to take the design to the next level. And how do we do that? Well, by making it bigger of course!
Here you can see that it is taking on a very similar silhouette as before; At this stage it has maintained its tulip wrap hemline, and now I have managed to finish the sleeves with a fitted cuff. The button detail is in the same satin, and I decided to stay with the three buttons in order for the neckline to remain in a deep V shape to show off ones décolletage!
This night robe is going to be the perfect accompaniment to a few nightgowns that will make up this capsule … to pair multiple items together will add to the luxurious feel that is so important to my designs. Layering is a great way to do this; Everyone loves a matching set… camisoles and knickers, jackets and skirts, gowns and robes!
There are still small details I want to add, and finishings that need done, but I am pleased with the progression from ‘small’ through to ‘big’.
Catch up with this design around October, where it will hopefully be finished in time to be that perfect accompaniment to the collection.
